Your First Edit

If you find that something is missing from Zenbu, or an entry has an incorrect detail such as a address or phone number, then you can assist every other Zenbu user by adding or editing that information.

We'll discuss editing an entry here, adding an entry is just the same but you would start with a blank form.

Editing information on Zenbu is dead simple and requires no technical skill.

You will be required to login before you can see the editing pages. This helps secure Zenbu from 'graffiti' and malicious edits.

After doing a search click on an entry name to see the full details. Click on the 'edit' link to go to the detail editing page.

Zenbu has a separate field for each of the basic pieces of information that a public place or business would usually put on the sign in the window. We'll cover each section separately.

Name

Everything has a name and this is the only required field. If the entry is part of a chain, it can help to put the location in this field too so that someone can identify the store just by seeing the name.

Tags

These are the words on a sign that tell you what a place does. Examples:

Bookshop. Magazines, books, news, confectionary, gifts

Japanese restaurant, BYO & licensed, takeaways

These are the keywords which catch your eye as you walk down the street or allow you to find the entry when searching online. This should be a keyword-rich, readable sentence.

Website

Many stores have a website where you can find out more details. Only one website is allowed in this field.

Physical Address

The complete address you would give to someone to come to this place from overseas. Number, street and suburb. Add the region if you think that is important. You don't need to include the country as Zenbu is country specific. Don't put postal addresses in this space, they can go in the Other Contact Details space.

Click the Map Now button to put a marker on the onscreen map at this location. You can manually drag the marker to a better position if it's not exactly correct. If Map Now doesn't work you could check your spelling or use the Second Chance box to enter just a nearby street or suburb then manually place the marker.

When You Have Made Your Changes
